Dear Hakim Family Member: We are happy to inform you that we finalized the plans for the HAKIM FAMILY REUNION - TURKEY 2000. The theme of the reunion is, "IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF OUR FOREFATHERS." Let the message travel across the continents wherever we have Hakim family members. If you have responded in the negative to my previous letter and questionnaire, please reconsider your plans and do try your utmost to join us at this reunion. We urge every member of the Hakim Family to join us at this reunion, and to bring as many members of the family as you possibly can. We hope that you will not be one of those who will later regret it, as many did after the 1997 Reunion for not attending. This is an opportunity to meet your family, some of which you never met, and others you haven't seen for many years. How many of us will be around by next reunion, and when will the next Reunion take place? No one can predict that now, but we can say for sure, that it will depend on the success and your response to the REUNION 2000. Therefore, your presence at this upcoming reunion will reassure us of your support, and assure the success of our effort to bring the family together. Please read carefully the attached description of the tour and the cost that applies to you and your family, then immediately fill out the Registration Form and accompany it with a check, in US dollars for the sum of 25% of the total cost of the tour applicable to you. (Please note, that there are two quotes for the cost of the tour. The actual cost will depend on the number of people that will participate. Therefore, when you send your initial deposit of 25% with your Registration Form, please base it on the highest cost of the tour. By the time you will have to send the balance, we should have a pretty good idea how many will participate, and the balance you will have to send will be based on the total number of participants who registered for the tour.) The basic tour is for eight (8) days and seven (7) nights, with an option to extend it to four (4) additional days and three (3) nights to whomever wants to extend the visit to Turkey. In addition, you have the option to arrive in Istanbul a few days earlier than the official start of the REUNION. The official starting date of REUNION 2000 is Sunday, September 17, 2000. There were many reasons and considerations for choosing that day. Please rest assured that it was carefully and thoroughly examined with other proposed optional dates. We hope that the mere fact that this REUNION will bring us together will resolve any problem or conflict of dates, and you will join us at this REUNION.
