TURKEY 2000 - TOUR
- Day 1-Sunday, September 17, 2000, First day of tour.
Arriving to Istanbul independently. There will be organized private transfers
from Airport to hotel Taksim Plaza. Staff members of the agency will meet
and greet passengers at the airport, and send them by minibus. The cost per
individual transfer is USD 15 Per Person (Fixed Price). In order to be able
to make the transfers, the names, arrival time, and airline must be submitted
by August 1, 2000. Similarly, those passengers, arriving prior to Sunday,
September 17, 2000, will have to submit their arrival time information by the
same date, in order to be met by the agent's staff at the airport and arrange
for them transportation to the hotel.
The price for hotel accommodation, for those arriving earlier than September
17, 2000, (see item 14 below under General terms and Conditions). The sum for
the additional nights must be paid directly to us by August 1, 2000, and not
to the hotel, in order for the above quoted rates to be applicable.
At 4:00 PM of the first day there will be an orientation meeting. This will
be the time that the people participating in the tour will be briefed about
the tour, and questions will be answered. Dinner, and overnight at the hotel.
- Day 2-Monday, September 18, 2000, Second day of tour.
Breakfast in the hotel, followed by a full day touring of Jewish and other
sites in Istanbul: such as Neve Shalom synagogue, the Italian Synagogue in
Galata, the community organization in Buyuk Hendek (Galata), t he Tower of
Galata. If time permits, Topkapi Palace Museum. There will be a lunch break
every day of the tour. However, each person will be responsible for their own
lunch. The tour bus will take everyone to a specific designated restaurant.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
- Day 3-Tuesday, September 19, 2000, Third day of tour.
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day visit of Istanbul. The St. Sophia Church,
the Byzantine Cathedral, the Blue Mosque with its six minarets, the
Hippodrome, the Byzantine Cistern, the Dolmabache Palace on the Bosphorus.
This tour will end at the Grand Covered Bazaar and the Egyptian Spice Market,
where the participants of the tour will spend 1.5 hours, after which we will
return to the hotel. Those who would like to spend longer than the
above-allotted time at the bazaar, may do so, however, they will have to
return back to the hotel on their own. Dinner, and overnight at the hotel.
- Day 4-Wednesday, September 20, 2000, Fourth day of tour.
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart Istanbul for Izmir via Bursa, by road and
ferry. Taking the highway from Istanbul to Eskihisar, where we will take the
ferry to Topcular. We will arrive at Yalova and Bursa at about lunch, and we
will stop at a designated restaurant. Each individual will be responsible for
their lunch. After lunch we will visit the resort city of Yalova and Bursa.
We will visit the Green Mosque with its splendid ceramics, the pillars
Mosque, the Green Mausoleum, and the Citadel, which was the center of the
Roman City. From there we will have a beautiful view of the valley. Finally,
we shall visit an old Turkish bath, which is one of the most interesting
monuments of Bursa. Dinner and overnight stay at Kervansaray Thermal Hotel
in Bursa.
- Day 5-Thursday, September 21, 2000, Fifth day of tour.
Breakfast at the hotel and continue to Pergamon and Izmir. On the way we will
visit the Acropolis, the Synagogue and Asclepium. We will have lunch in
Pergamon. As in previous days, the tour guide will take us to a designated
restaurant. However, each individual will be responsible for their lunch.
After lunch we will continue to Izmir. However, before reaching Izmir we will
be stopping at Manisa, where we will visit a few sites and we will have an
orientation tour of the city, after which we will proceed to the Princess
Hotel in Izmir, where we will have dinner and sleeping accommodations.
- Day 6-Friday, September 22, 2000, Sixth day of tour.
Breakfast at the hotel, and full day visit of Izmir. We will first drive to
Mount Pagus to have a splendid panoramic view of the city and Bay of Izmir.
We will visit the Agora and the old city, where we will find the old Caravan
Saries from the 17th century, and a great number of small shops. We will
visit the two synagogues, Beth Israel and Sha'ar Hashmayim. Lunch in town at
a designated restaurant.
Shabbat dinner with Kiddush will be served at the hotel.
- Day 7-Saturday, September 23, 2000. Seventh day of tour.
Breakfast at hotel. Visit the City, Synagogue, and ruins of Sardes. After the
visit to Sardes, we will return to the hotel in Izmir for lunch. As in
previous days, each individual will be responsible for their own lunch. The
afternoon will be free.
Banquet in the evening, with dignitaries from the local Jewish and non-Jewish
community.
- Day 8-Sunday, September 24, 2000. Eighth day of tour.
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to Ephesus, driving through Selcuk to the ruins
of the city and museum of Ephesus. We will have lunch at Ephesus at a
designated restaurant. After lunch, those
returning home will be transferred to the airport for early PM departure for
Europe/USA or a flight to Istanbul for Tel Aviv or other destinations.
- POST TOUR
- Day 8-Sunday, September 24, 2000 - Eighth day of POST TOUR (for those who
chose to extend their stay in Turkey).
Breakfast at the hotel, after which we will depart by TK383 at 08:00 hr. to
Ankara. We will be met in Ankara by the tour guide, and will be transferred
to Dedeman Hotel where we will have dinner and stay overnight.
- Day 9-Monday, September 25, 2000, Ninth day of tour.
Breakfast at the hotel and visit to Anatolian Civilization Museum. Depart to
Cappadocia. Lunch en route. Arrive to Cappadocia during PM. Dinner at the
Perrissia hotel, where we will stay overnight.
- Day 10-Tuesday, September 26, 2000, Tenth day of tour.
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to Cappadocia. Visit to the cave churches in
Goreme, Zelve, and the underground city of Kaymakli. Lunch in the city,
dinner and overnight at Perissia Hotel.
- Day 11-Wednesday, September 27, 2000, Eleventh day of tour.
Breakfast at the hotel, after which all will be transferred to the airport
for a flight to Istanbul and to connection to their destination Europe, USA,
Israel or any other part of the world.
- TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Accommodations - All accommodations will be in four and five stars hotel.
Categories of the hotels, are set according to the Turkish ministry of
tourism ratings.
2. Meals - Price of tour will include half board (breakfast and dinner), from
Day 2 to Day 7, and for the Post Tour from Day 8 through Day 10. For Day 1
dinner only and for days 8, 11 breakfast only.
3. Transportation - In a 45 seat motor coach, air conditioning or heat as
needed. There will be no bathroom facilities on the bus, however, the bus
driver will make enough stops on route to accommodate passengers.
4. Guides - English and French speaking guides as needed.
5. Drinks - Mineral waters, tea or coffee are included with breakfast and
dinner, and for the first day orientation on Sunday, September 17, 2000.
6. Entrance Fees - All fees to places being visited by the tour are included.
7. Tips - Tips for the guide(s) and driver are not included.
8. Cost of Tour includes the following - Hotel accommodations, from first day
of tour, September 17, 2000, long distance motor coach with A/C and heating,
baggage handling, entrance fees at museums, and all other sites including
synagogues, if there are any charges, English and French speaking guide(s),
soft drinks with breakfast and dinner, service charge and VAT.
9. Cost of Tour does not include the Following: Tips to guide and driver,
personal expenses such as laundry, telephone calls, beverages other than
those mentioned above, wine and hard liquor, except what is served during the
banquet, kosher food arrangement for those who request it. (There will be an
additional charge for that service). Domestic flight tickets, if required

10. Wine - There will be a bottle of wine red or white served for every four
persons for Shabbat dinner and at the banquet.
11. (a) Net Cost per above itinerary from day 1 through day 8, seven nights
and eight days depends on the number of people attending the reunion. The
cost below is for minimum and maximum attendance as follows:

12. Individual and Group arrival to Istanbul - transfer to hotel US $15.00
per person.
13. Additional Cost for guests you wish to invite to the banquet is US $35
per person.
14. Additional Hotel Nights - For those arriving prior to Sunday, September
17, 2000: per person in double occupancy USD 75.00 per night, for triple
occupancy USD 69.00 per person per night. For single supplement an additional
USD 25.00 per night. Room and breakfast only.
15. The cost for children under 12 years of age is as follows:
a. Age of 3 -12 years old, sharing room with two adults (extra bed) 25%
discount
b. Age of 03 - 12 years old, sharing room with one adult (no extra bed) 50%
discount
c. Age of 00 - 02 years old, sharing room with two adults (no extra bed) free
of Charge.
16. A deposit of 25% of the total amount is required by June 30, 2000. The
balance is by August 1, 2000.
17. Refunds and Cancellations (Please read carefully)
a. Cancellation up to 35 days before the tour begins on September 17, 2000,
will be fully refunded.
b. Cancellation between 34 and 8 days 10% of the total amount will be held as
a cancellation fee.
c. Cancellation between 7 and 1 day before the tour begins on September 17,
2000, 35% will be kept as cancellation fee.
d. Cancellation on the day of arrival, there will be no refund.
Optional for Hakim Family Members that will be traveling from Israel /
Istanbul and Istanbul /Israel* (see below)
