December 13,1997
Dear Hakim Family Member:
This reminder is being sent to all Hakim Family members whose e-mail or fax
number is available to me. If you have the e-mail or fax number of any of the
Hakim family members, I would like to ask you pass on the information of this
message. In addition if any of the Hakim Family members live within your
proximity, and you can call them, please call them and convey to them the
message.
On Tuesday, December 16,1997 we will commemorate the passing of one of
ancestors. It will the centennial year of his passing. I am talking about
Rabbi Joseph Yehudah Hakim of blessed memory. On his tombstone he is refered
to as the Kabalist, Saintly and Holy. It will be appropriate that each of us
would light a memorial candle in his memory. Without offense to anyone, before
you light the memorial candle, you may say the following prayer, in whatever
language you feel comfortable. "I light this memorial candle in memory of my
ancestor Rabbi, Kabalist Saintly and Holy Joseph son of Yehudah Halevy Hakim.
May he rest with his people's saints, immortally held in the bond of life.
Amen."
With the blessing of Shalom,
